EYE MEDICAL CAMP 2021 (Karnali & Mugu district)

Sherpa "Jangbu" climbed 16x Everest and 9 peaks over 8,000 m. He is a legend in Nepal for his exploits and also for his humility. He makes his family live like this and live very difficult moments like for example. the avalanche of 2014 which killed 16 x Nepalese, very close to him. He was present during this avalanche at the base camp. The film "Mission Everest" the legend of the sherpa Jangbu is a tribute to all those who died during the expeditions. L'équipe des optométristes de "Vision Together Népal" et 2 chirurgiens du Surket Eye Hospital de la Croix Rouge suisse et népalaise ont opérés env. 70 cas. les conditions étaient très dures, pluies, routes dangereuses et les patients atteints de cataractes amenés à dos de mulets jusqu'à au bloc opératoire installé dans un chalet en bois . 2 camps de chirurgiens ont été accomplis prèS du Rara Lake dans le Mugu district et Karnali district, régions très pauvres et éloignées. Depuis 14 mois que personne et aucun camp n'a été effectué, le challenge était de grande envergure avec tous les risques que cela comprenait ! Bravo à toute l'équipe !
